This form is to be filled out for nominations for the 2025 Health & Safety Award presented by the Durham Region Labour Council, Lindsay & District Labour Council, Northumberland Labour Council and Peterborough & District Labour Council on Thursday, June 12th, 2025.
Nominations to be completed by Tuesday, May 20th, 2025. Please note that we will contact the winning recipient and their union contacts.
Please complete all fields and ensure you select which Labour Council the nominee is affiliated with. All nominations, regardless of council, will be submitted through this single form. Winning recipients and their union contacts will be notified in advance.
Calling all members of the Durham Region, Peterborough & District, Lindsay & District, and Northumberland Labour Councils! We’re proud to open nominations for our Health & Safety Activist Award, honouring worker representatives who have gone above and beyond to champion health and safety in the workplace.
Who Can Be Nominated?
We invite nominations for any bargaining unit member in a worker representative role, such as:
- Health and Safety Representative
- Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) Member
- Steward
- Unit Chair
- Local Union Executive Board Member
- President
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for this award, the nominee must:
- Demonstrate exceptional unpaid volunteer efforts in their representative role.
- Contribute to the elimination of workplace hazards and the protection of workers’ health and safety.
- Not be a salaried employee of the WHSC.
