Why We’re Coming Together:

Many workers believe that if they’re injured, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) will be there for them. But the reality is far more complicated and it’s time to talk about it! The time to have these conversations is before injuries happen so we can be prepared.

This event brings together injured workers, ill workers, and allies for an honest conversation about what’s wrong with the system that is meant to support injured or ill workers, and how we can fight for change. Together, we can build a stronger system that protects workers when they need it most.

 What to Expect:

  • Free food for attendees
  • A chance to speak out, ask questions, and share your story
  • Hear from ONIWG Vice President Wayne Harris on his experience as an injured worker
  • Learn how to take action in your workplace and community
  • Discuss issues like opioid use, injury stigma, and lack of WSIB awareness
  • The real experiences of workers navigating WSIB

Who Should Attend:

This is an open event for all workers, whether unionized or not.

  • Injured or ill workers

  • Union stewards and leaders

  • Health & safety reps

  • Community members affected by workplace injuries

  • Anyone who wants to learn more & help fix the system

We’re offering free food, a Zoom option for accessibility, and a powerful space to share, learn, and organize. Be part of the movement to build a better system for all Ontario workers.

To attend in person fill out the form on this page! Don’t forget to let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.
