Labour of Love – A Community Arts and Music Celebration
Join the Durham Region Labour Council this Labour Day for Labour of Love – A Community Arts and Music Celebration, celebrating workers, community, solidarity, and Oshawa’s proud labour history.
Taking place at Memorial Park in downtown Oshawa, Labour of Love will bring together workers, families, unions, community organizations, artists, musicians, and neighbours for an afternoon of live music, food, art, activities, and community connection.
Enjoy live music featuring Canadian musician BA Johnston, along with Durham Region performers Postman Dan, PLZ Respond and Donna Lee Tunes.
There will be plenty happening throughout the afternoon for the whole family, including community art and activities with the LivingRoom Community Art Studio, a special performance by the Camaros Baton Twirlers, face painting, balloon art, free hot dogs, an ice cream truck, and more!
And this year, the celebration extends beyond Memorial Park! Located just steps away at 99 Simcoe St. S., the Canadian Automotive Museum will open its doors for FREE admission and tours for the duration of our event!
Labour Day has long been a time to celebrate the contributions of working people and recognize the power of workers coming together. In a city shaped by generations of workers and a proud labour history, Labour of Love is a chance to gather, connect, celebrate and recognize the workers who built our communities.
